Introduction

Success was incorporated in Croatia in 2007 to provide luxury accommodation and professional tourism services to individuals, families, groups and corporates in Croatia and selected destinations in Europe. Since then, Success Tours has expanded its operations and travel services to India, Nigeria and South Africa.

Success Tours has established its office in India, Mumbai, in 2016. In 2018 Success Tours India has achieved major progress in the areas of customised family holiday packages and MICE, bringing Indian tourists to Croatia and Eastern Europe. About 1500 guests from India have been brought to Croatia, in 150 groups ranging from 4 to 150 in size.

These travellers, while visiting Croatia, typically chose to visit several other neighbouring countries including Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, and Monte Negro. In addition to central and eastern Europe, Success Tours has also delivered tours in the following western European countries: France, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands and Germany.

Considering an average expenditure of €2,000 per person for tour and all other expenses in Croatia, this represents €3 million of foreign exchange revenues for Croatian economy. When compared to year 2017, this represents growth of ten times.

In 2018, Success Tours has expanded its operations to South Africa and Nigeria. Success Tours branches have been registered, management and staff appointed, and several tours have been booked for 2019.

Conclusion

Size of India’s international travel market is estimated at 130 million, which is 10% of 1.3 billion population. As such, India presents unprecedented tourism opportunities for Croatian tourism industry. This is especially significant when considering seasonality of Croatian and Indian holiday seasons which are complimentary. Indian tourists prefer spring and autumn seasons, which are low seasons in Croatia, rather than hot summer season which is high season in Croatia. Based on the successes achieved in the past three years, and insights gained, Success Tours is well positioned to continue exponential growth into 2019, connecting Europe, Asia and Africa.
